The service
Glotlens's basic features are currently free to use; we may place some accounts on a paid plan with additional features and services. We work to keep it useful and available, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free results. We may change features or suspend or discontinue the service for maintenance, security, legal or operational reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will give advance notice on this website of changes that materially affect your use. Urgent security or legal issues may require action without advance notice.
Optional accounts
You may sign in with your own Google account. Protect your account and devices and do not impersonate others. Scanning and translation do not require sign-in. You can sign out or use the account-deletion page to delete your account. The Privacy Policy explains what deletion covers and how data is retained.
For reference only
Price recognition, translations, currency conversions and shared price comparisons are for reference only and may be wrong or out of date. Prices may depend on membership, promotions, purchase quantities, units, package sizes, the shop and the time of purchase. A displayed price does not guarantee stock availability and is not an offer or a price commitment by a retailer. Check the label and applicable conditions, and confirm the checkout price with the shop. The amount charged by your bank or card issuer may differ from our conversion and may include fees.
AI recognition
Optional AI recognition is processed by a third-party AI model (Google Gemini or OpenAI). Its results may be inaccurate. See the Privacy Policy for how images are handled. AI recognition has a daily limit, which may differ for users who are not signed in, free accounts and paid accounts, and which we may adjust. Once it is used up, AI recognition is unavailable until the next day (UTC). Free use of AI recognition requires price sharing to be turned on.
Shared prices
If you choose to share prices, you permit us to store, process, aggregate and display the product, shop and price information you submit for the price-comparison service. This permission is limited to operating that service and does not transfer ownership of your content to us. Please share information you are entitled to submit and do not knowingly submit false prices or personal information. Turning off sharing stops new uploads but does not delete records already submitted. See the Privacy Policy for retention and how to contact us about corrections or removal.
Fair use
You may use the service for lawful personal or business purposes. Do not interfere with its operation, overload it, bypass access controls or usage limits, or make unauthorized bulk API requests or automated collection of service data. Do not use it to infringe other people's rights or for unlawful activities. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic or access that violates these terms, including immediately when needed to protect the service or other users.
Automatic updates
The Android app downloaded from this website checks our server for new versions. When an update is available it will offer to download and install it; some updates may be required to keep using the app. Each download is verified with a SHA-256 checksum before installation.
Your legal rights
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits consumer rights, warranties or our liability where applicable law does not allow that exclusion or limitation. Subject to those rights and obligations, and to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on an incorrect recognition, translation, shared price or currency conversion.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest version. For material changes, we will post a notice on this website with the effective date and provide reasonable advance notice where possible; urgent security or legal changes may take effect sooner. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using the service. Any consent required by applicable law will be obtained separately.
