Install
- Download the Android APK from the download page and open it.
- If asked, allow your browser or file manager to install unknown apps.
- Allow the camera on first launch. Location is optional and lets the app pick the label language and local currency for the country you are in.
Tip: once installed, the app checks for updates by itself — no need to come back here.
Read a price tag
- Put the price tag in the frame and hold still for a moment — no photo needed.
- In dim light, tap the torch button above the frame.
- To read a photo of a tag, choose “From photos” in the “More” menu at the top.
The result card
The result card sits at the bottom of the screen:
- Converted price: the large number is the price you pay in your currency, with the price on the tag below it.
- Product name: translated, with the original next to it.
- Other prices: member prices, multi-buy deals, per-kg prices and so on, each with its condition.
When the price you pay is unclear, the card does not show one and asks you to check the tag. Along the top of the card: favorite, share, bought (ledger) and compare.
AI recognition (optional)
For complex or unusual tags, turn on “Use AI recognition” in Settings. Each new tag then uploads the framed image once (the whole photo when reading from your gallery) so AI can read prices and the product name; the on-device result shows until AI answers. The server does not keep the image. Off by default.
Compare prices
- Point at the first product and tap “Compare” on the card — it is pinned as A.
- Point at the second product and tap “Compare” again.
- The comparison shows which is better value per kg, litre or item; enter a size by hand if one is missing.
Turn on “Share prices” in Settings (off by default) to also see lower prices at nearby shops.
Ledger
- Tap “Bought” on the card to record the price, converted to your currency; the notice lets you edit or undo it.
- The ledger (“More” menu → “Expenses”) shows this month; switch months with the arrows or tap the date to choose any dates.
- Pick a country to see everything you spent there — one trip.
- Set a monthly budget at the top right for alerts at 80% and 100%; “Summary” shows the total, the daily average and your biggest purchases.
The ledger stays on your phone and is never uploaded.
Exchange rates
The rates page (“More” menu → “Exchange rates”) has a four-currency converter and a table of common amounts. Rates are daily reference rates and may differ from what your card is charged; after 2 days they are marked as an older rate, after 7 days they are no longer used.
Settings
- Translate to, price currency, convert to: tap the bar at the top to switch quickly; the price currency follows the country you are in.
- Use AI recognition and Share prices: optional, off by default.
- Card text size: Small, Default, Large or Extra large.
- App language: follow the system, English or Simplified Chinese.
